Welcome to!A subreddit for all of those who love the Total War series. Playing FOTS last night and Aizu starts a war with me, no idea why as I was Jozai and we should be allies. I take over Aizu and then Nogoaka attacks me with.2 units of Yari kachi. He goes for my fort and I obviously hold him off since I have a 5 units of yari kachi and 5 of line infantry. A bit confused. Next turn they send 2 more units of yari kachi. They keep doing this for 7 turns straight sending 1-2 units of yari kachi at my fort.I go to attack his city and they meet me halfway with 5 units of line infantry and 1 mathlock and a general.
I was playing Empire as the Maratha Confederacy and was well on my way to destroying the Mughals when out of nowhere the British declared war on me, invaded and landed a full stack army near Sindh. I didn't have many units near that area and the British could have demolished my presence on the western coast but instead they inexplicably split their army up into twenty individual armies consisting of one unit apiece.
They then proceeded to march up the coast, away from Sindh, and into Persia.I didn't have to fight a single battle against them, they just vanished into the waste and were never seen again. When I tried out Empire recently for the first time. (never played it on release after reading a bad review in PCG).One of my armies got ambushed and whilst it was loading I went afk for a short bit, forgetting about the battle starting instantly when you're being ambushed. When I come back, the british are lining up their front behind my army marching straight past my chilling units, who is still in march formation. Not a single shot had been fired and it was well above 5 minutes into the game. One time, in Empire, playing as the Maratha Confederacy, I fought another of the two million battles you need to fight against the Mughals before you get to do anything else and in this battle they had a reinforcing army in the vicinity.
I wiped out the main army in short order, and that was about when I realized that the reinforcing army had entered the map from a corner containing a small plateau with no way to get down. They camped on that cliff. Even worse, the angle of the cliff meant that I couldn't kill them with artillery and I had to forfeit the battle. I'm still not sure if I should blame CA for making a terrible map like that or if that one general was the Mughals only tactical genius.
